Principal Designer (PD)

All clients have a major influence over how a project is procured and managed.
Regardless of the project size, the client has contractual control, appoints designers and contractors, and determines the required funding, time, and other resources.

CDM 2015 also requires Clients to appoint a Principal Designer as early as possible during the design process.

BESC-UK can be the Principal Designer for your project to assist in regulation compliance by managing and coordinating the planning and design work to ensure the risk of harm to those who are to construct, use, and maintain the building is reduced, and at the end of the project produce a
Health and Safety File that provides a digital executive summary of the project’s design and construction.
Principal Designer Advisor (PDA)

When appointed as Principal Designer Advisor (PDA), BESC-UK offers a service for lead consultants and designers appointed by a client to the role of Principal Designer. Our tailored CDM Services include advice and guidance on discharging the Principal Designer's duties by ensuring health and safety issues are properly considered during the design and construction phases of the project.
We attend design meetings, review reports, drawings, and specifications, and prepare the Pre-Construction Information Pack (PCIP) for distribution to all those involved in the design and contractors tendering to construct the project.

BESC-UK also considers the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) and, if appropriate, can submit an F10 Notification to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
